Working with a historical home is a unique opportunity - full of possibility, but it can also have its challenges. With clear guidance and a collaborative process, what can feel complex becomes an experience you can enjoy and feel proud of. My role is to support you every step of the way.

Every stage is handled with care, clarity, and attention to detail - from the first design conversation to the final site visit.

If you’d like to see how this process comes to life, take a look at some of the homes I’ve worked on.

A clear, collaborative process - from first sketch to final handover.

Here is how I bring your vision to life:

  • We begin by exploring what’s possible. This phase helps you understand the potential of your home, align your design vision with your budget, and feel confident about the next steps. It’s also a chance to get a feel for how we work together.

  • With a clear direction in place, we refine the design. This stage explores layout options, resolves design challenges, whilst considering any budget adjustments.

If council approval is needed, the desired schematic design can be presented to council for preliminary discussions and feedback.

  • If your project needs planning approval, I’ll prepare all the required drawings and documents, and manage the application on your behalf - including liaising with council to keep things moving.

  • We now bring in consultants such as structural engineers and begin selecting materials, finishes and fixtures. The design is fine-tuned to ensure everything works together - aesthetically, practically and structurally.

  • This is where the technical detail comes in. I prepare the full construction documentation needed for building permits, approvals, and accurate builder pricing. These become the drawings your builder will work from.

  • Once documentation is complete, I help you select the right builder. I manage the tender process, answer builder queries, and guide you through contract negotiations - ensuring clarity and confidence before construction begins.

  • Throughout the build, I remain closely involved - conducting regular site visits, answering questions, and ensuring the project stays true to the design intent. I also check for quality and manage any issues that arise, right through to final handover.
